Greenhills and Charms

Just wanted to say that I'm raving about the bracelet I bought at Greenhills... I got this at around 400 pesos but I think you can get it for as low as 300 or even less if you know how to ask the tinderas (seller/store keepers)...

Mom, wants to borrow it already! Haha...

Sinigang, Sentro and Sago

Joy and I had dinner at Sentro-Greenbelt (10/09/07). We had Corned Beef Sinigang (P340) which is really good. The veggies are fresh. The kind people there also had us taste test the soup before serving it to make sure it's our cup of tea (I mean soup).

We also had Bottomless Sago Gulaman (P90) for drinks. One thing to note aside from the drink being really good is that waiters need not be asked for a refill. When they see your glass almost empty, they automatically come up to you to give you another round... Thanks!!!

We got really full afterwards so we went straight to Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf (Greenbelt, beside Max Brenner) to get... well, coffee...

I got mocha latte which is not so bitter... that is to say... ok... but really nothing special... although I think it helped me digest everything I ate at Sentro... Haha...

Rommel, Rian, Maan and Japan

Waaah...

Three of my friends are leaving for Japan this October. Thankfully, two of them will be back before Christmas which means we can still celebrate our usual pre-Christmas dinner and exchange gifts.

Unfortunately for Rian, she will be celebrating Christmas, New Year and her Birthday alone in Japan. We'll really miss her.

Anyway, we decided to have dinner together before they leave. I met them at Megamall and we had dinner at Sbarro. I usually order their Ziti but that time I had a change of heart and ordered Chicken Parmigiana instead. Sbarro is not really my favorite place for pasta but it is the first time I've had Chicken Parmigiana so I couldn't compare. But, if you want pasta I think I would recommend Javaman's Puttanesca (Inside Powerbooks) or Green Tomato's Pesto (Shangri-La) - both below 200 pesos (the last time I tried).

Most of my Trend Friends are Bookworms or TV Series addicts. Jethro and I thought of giving Rian and Maan books. Rian is very much excited to watch Stardust (originally written by Neil Gaiman)... so we gave her the book.



As for Maan, she loves most chick flick books or movies. As of now, we are both watching Gossip Girl from the book series by Cecily von Ziegesar... so that is what we gave her...



Aside from the books, Malou gave all three of them (including Rommel) cards... that I didn't take a picture...


After dinner, Maan had to head home... She still had errands to do the following day. The rest of us headed for coffee... (as usual)


We decided to go to the nearest shop at Starbucks. Rian bought me my usual Caramel Machiatto and, for herself, her usual Coffee Jelly. I am not sure what Jethro ordered... He must have tried everything on the list before as he practically lives there...

As we were having coffee, Rian could not help but show her excitement on her trip. She told us the list of things she needs to buy and promised to go shopping the following day. Although very excited, she still did not want us to remind her that she will have to spend the 3 most celebrated occasions of a year alone in Japan... I guess she'll miss us... but I don't think that would be half as much as we'll miss her...

Tiangge, Coffee and Blueberry Cheese Cake

Looking for something to do before I work, I asked a friend to go out with me last friday(10/05/07) . My friend wanted to go to Paseo Center. She said she wanted to take a look around the tiangge at the 1st floor of the building. After a few minutes of looking around (that seemed like years on my empty tummy...), Joy bought a pair of silver dangling earrings for 150 pesos. I wanted to buy a really cute metallic pink blouse which the kind lady at the tiangge is offering for 280 pesos. I think it was a really good buy (if only I had bought it!). I told the lady that I will be back after my friend and I had taken dinner as my stomach is then rumbling like mad.

We ate dinner at Chicken Bacolod (2nd floor). I ordered the usual Inihaw na Pitso and Mangga Ensalada. Then, we went back to the lady's corner at the tiangge. Of course, someone had bought the blouse already (Didn't I tell me that it was a really good buy?!!). I felt bad but the lady said that she'll just try get another stock next week. Hopefully she' ll be able to get one as I really plan to go back.

After our little trip at the tiangge, we went to get some coffee. Actually, my friend wanted ice cream but I think I am so full with the dinner that we had that I needed something to help in digestion... So we went to Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf (at Paseo Center 1st floor) where Joy ordered the featured ice-blended drink, Mocha Mud Slide (?) (P185) which she swore tastes really good. May be I'll try that next time. I had Cafe Caramel (P130) and Blueberry Cheese Cake (P135). I think the coffee's a little too sweet than Starbucks' Caramel Machiatto (but If you are a sweet tooth, you can give it a try). As for the cheese cake, I think I would prefer the one I had at Fazoli's.

Although, I'm not raving much about CBTL's cheese cake, I would still find time to go back. I like the place as I do most coffee shops... Most of them have hardwood floor, wooden tables, wooden chairs/comfy sofas and of course, the smell of coffee when you enter... A perfect place to read a book or chat with friends or (more importantly...) drink coffee...
